Three Way Murder
12.34am on a rainy Friday night in Madrid, Spain. A middle-aged man, George Smith, was chatting with a few friends of his about what they could do for their Christmas holidays.
A few hours went by and George’s friends were starting to leave, until eventually it was just George left.
George was having a few drinks by himself when two very tall men approached him. One of them had big blue eyes and a long ginger beard and the other had, long skinny legs and big monkey ears. They both said at the same time ‘’Hello Sir, do you mind if me and my friend have a few drinks with you?’’.
‘’Of course’’ said George pleasantly. George got out of his seat and moved to the front of the bar and they talked about themselves. George asked his two new friends what their names were. The one with big ears and skinny legs said with a deep voice, ‘’Well sir my name is William Spur the 4th’’.
‘’I’m Jack Reads’’ said the man with big blue eyes.
‘’Ok then pleased to meet you both’’ said George.
3:17am
George and his new friends were getting tired. ‘’Maybe we should call a cab’’ said Jack .
‘No, I can drive’’ said George ‘’. The three were walking out of the bar when Jack’s phone rang, ‘’I need to take this’’ said Jack and he walked off down a dark alley way. William called a cab. ‘’They will be 5 minutes’’ said William. Out of the corner of George’s eye he saw a dark figure open a car door.
“Are you ok George?’’ asked William.
‘’Yea I must be seeing things’’ he said.
Five minutes later the cab arrived. ‘’Hurry up!’’ yelled William to George. Jack came running to the car, ‘’Sorry I needed to take a leak’
‘’I thought you needed to take a phone call’’ said George.
‘’Yea and that” said Jack. All three of the men got into the cab. the cab, the driver said “I just need to go into the bar to pick up one of my orders, Is that alright”
“yeah that's fine” said Jack.
Suddenly everyone heard a really really loud eardrum-bursting noise. William and Jack both jumped out of the car and yelled “NOW!!!” a Black car came speeding right for the cab with George still in it. It was only a matter a seconds for the cars to collide. George came flying out of the front windscreen and went head first into a brick wall. William and Jack jumped into the car that hit the cab and sped off down the dark wet road. The cab driver burst through the bar door and ran over to George. He grabbed George's wrist, There was no pulse. Getting his own heartbeat under control, the cab driver called an ambulance and the police. They arrived a few minutes later and George was pronounced dead at the scene. The ambulance sped off to the hospital while the police stayed at the crime scene to investigate.
Three hours went past with no new evidence or any name on who could of done this. As the police force was beginning to pack up two car headlights turned on. The engine roared as the car headed straight for the crime scene. The police officers jumped out of the way and the car zoomed up the bar stairs and smashed straight through the glass doors, jammed.
“Get out of the car NOW!!!” shouted the officers. The front driver's seat door swung open and a man fall out. Immediately the cops ran over to him and handcuffed him. One of the officers called an ambulance to come pick up the driver. The police went to investigate more on the car and found two more men in the back seat in critical condition. They were also rushed to hospital.
The men were later identified as Alex King (the driver) and the two men in the back seat were Jack Reads and William Spur. The car was totaled and families were called. It was a very sad night for those affected. Alex King was sentenced for life in prison without parole. William Spur was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility for parole, and Jack Reads was also sentenced for the same crime.

Forensics in Room 15
Forensics
On Monday morning Senior constable Gavin Cross and Detective constable Kate Hyde came into the hall to talk to TK house about Forensics. There were a lot of diffident parts that Senior constable Gavin Cross and Detective constable Kate Hyde talked to us about, like how they can put powder on a surface that you would you can see or think there would be finger prints and then send it to wellington to see if the finger print patterns match any other patterns that they could have recorded. The part of Senior constable Gavin Cross and Detective constable Kate Hyde visit that most surprised me was when they showed us that, if u think the criminal cleaned up blood you can put aluminum on the surface and it can show if there was blood there or not. I learnt lots about the forensic teams in New Zealand and it was really fun listening and learning about Senior constable Gavin Cross and Detective constable Kate Hyde job any many more police men and women.
Yesterday after lunch all the TK houses went to different classes to learn about forensics. Room 13 went to room 15 with miss Elmore and learnt about how the police get and collect offender finger print and lip pattern. The way we record our finger prints was to shade really really dark on a bit of paper then rub your finger of the shaded part of the paper and the stick a bit of seller tape the your finger then stick it to a white peace of paper and it should show you what type of finger print you have.

Athletics
Athletics
On Friday the 6th of November HNI had their house athletics. The first Rotation for TK boys was long jump. The longest I jumped was 3.79 meters and my placing was 4th.
Next TK boys had discuss. The longest I threw was 7.59 meters but I don't know my placing.
Next rotation we had the 200 meter sprints. I got 1st in my race
Next we head shot put. The shot-put balls we were using weighed 3kg. The longest I threw was 3 metres something.
After shot- put we did the Nerf throwing. I don't know how far I threw but I am guessing that I threw 70 to 75 metres, putting me in one of the top places.
After the Nerf throwing we went on to do the 100 metre sprints. My race was closer to the end of the TK boys racing. I got 1st in my race only by a second.
After all those events it was finally time for a rest and have some lunch.
Our last event was high jump. There were five kids chosen from each class to participate in high jump. I was one of those five but didn't do very good.

Hiroshima bombing
On August the 6 1945 an Atom bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan by a plane called Enola Gay.
Tens of thousands of people were killed. Survivors were badly burned and injured. Many had skin completely burnt off their arms and faces and were wandering the streets looking for water.
As the war entered its sixth and final year, the Allies had begun to prepare for what was going to be a very risky invasion of the Japanese mainland.
The whole design of dropping Fat Man (the bomb) was to get the Japanese to surrender.

Matahiwi marae
We were told to sit down and listen the people speak and Clive school sing a song and their school song. After we listened to people speak we went into the Whare kai and had a cup of water and a biscuit and waited for the teachers to put us into groups.
In the first rotation we listened to a lady , she talked to my group about here childhood and what the panting on the walls mean. One of the facts that I learnt in that rotation was that most moari people grew their own food. In our next rotation my group went into the wharenui and talked about the whale jaw. The man talking about the whale jaw said that the whale was washed up on the beach in Te awanga and was beread their and later uncovered it self because DOC did not release the gas from the whale .
Over all it was an alright day apart from the wind

Thank you so much for letting my class go to camp.
Even though I didn't go to camp I would have had lots of fun. Without you, room 10 , 8 and 5 would not have been able to go to camp and have a great time doing things they haven't done befor.
When they came back they were all talking about how great camp was.
Thank you Mr Tait
