Letter to room 17

Letter to Room 17

I wasn't that nervous when the first day of HNI came along because I already knew lots of people that were going there. But I do think of HNI different that when I was at primary school. I Thought that HNI was going to be like just about having boyfriends and girlfriends but I think of it different now and I have had a great year.  That is was pretty cool when we got Shearly and Russell and we all still think that they are really cool and now that we added more animals into the tank.

Sorry for disrupting class and you having to move me alot because I was being annoying.

Thanks for always playing games when we meant to be doing work like silent ball maths tag biddy biddy bop and a whole lot more games.

We always would laugh at the vocab game when people would give funny answers like that time when Baylee answered bikini

Part of this year was when the class always laughed at little and big things like when Jake broke the clock and when Clay got his pants pulled down in rippa rugby. And playing and doing P.E was really fun too.

Got better at maths because I am not good at maths and my new friends have helped me get better at it.

Next year …. I am going to focus on school work harder and I can't wait to get my new teacher.

It was pretty embarrassing when…. Jack horsefull yawned in the middle of an answer and if he got an answer wrong he would always shout out NOOOOOOO!!!.

I wish I …. Tried harder in maths and reading and other tasks that I was given.Displaying IMG_6926.JPG

Social dacing

We have been learning…. social dancing

I think we do Social Dancing because….. we prepare for the social dance

Before we started Social Dancing, I felt… annoyed

I already had experience with…. knowone

When I am doing dancing, I feel…. board and mad

I feel like this because…. i don't like dancing

Social Dancing would be better if….. we didn't do it

My thoughts about the dance are… i don't want to do it.

MY LIFE OF CRIME

This is what Antony looks like nowSumo.png

He won't believe his friends now and he will go and cry to his mum. He won’t make any new friends. I think in the rest of the story its just going to be about him try to get revenge on his non friends but he will just keep losing but at the end he will finally win.

circulatory system

The Circulatory system

The big ideas:
How the circulatory system works,How it pumps blood and how it moves oxygen. This explanation will show you how it works and show how important it is.

The heart:
The heart is made up of 4 chambers. There are two chambers on each side of the heart. The top two chambers are called the atria. They fill with blood. The heart is about the size of your fist.red blood cells

The red blood cells:
The red blood cells pick up oxygen from the lungs and goes throw the heart. Then the heart pumps the blood for where the body needs it. Then they drop off the good oxygen and then picks up carbon dioxide and takes it back to the heart and then it gets exhaled out and then goes back to the lungs and gets more oxygen.

How the heart pumps blood:
Each pump of the heart pumps blood through the veins. Each pump takes 3-5 secondes.

Conclusion:

That is how the circulatory system works and how the heart pumps blood. If you didn't have it you would live.

Get a hair cut

Get a hair cut

Lucan is a year 12 student at st johns college.
He has been suspended from school until he gets a haircut. I'm with the school on this one because it is school rules to not have your hair touching your color or getting in your face. Apparently he hasn't been wearing his hair tied back at school and this is what is causing all the fuss. It is school rules so if he doesn't like the rules he should go to a different school or just get over it and cut his hair.

octopus run

Octopus Escape Fill and June we were flying through the air after June was taken by the sushi shop man to be made into octopus sushi. Anyway when Fill and June were flying, in the distance they got a tiny glimpse of a row of pools. They both had the same idare to go for the swimming pools but the sushi man was right on their tail swinging his butcher knife They both made it to the swimming pools but the sushi man was getting closer and closer. They started to run out of pools and the sushi man was getting ready to grab them but Fill and an idare , as soon as he swung his had they would go a different direction. His plan work the sushi man carried on going that direction and shot off the road straight into the sea. Both the octopus’s were safe ohh so they thought they both state on a closed line staring at each other straight into their eyes. But then a ugly looking seagull swooped down and grabbed Fill and took of with him. June was not happy at all she flung her two front tentacles onto the balconies that were below her and flung herself straight into the ugly seagull. when she landed on the seagull the seagull thought that she was so ugly that he fainted and drooped Fill and June striate into the fish and chip shop and they ended after that. ablest that they were in the same order.

ripper rugby

For the past couple of weeks room 17 has been practicing our ripper rugby skills. It has been very fun the first day the we started practicing there were four captains me Jake Clay and Josh. Mrs Garland choose the captains and choose who went in what team.  We started with three activates one of them was making a long line of one of the teams one person behind another passing the ball and we practiced our side steeping and running back to where you got ripped. We have been doing ripper for two weeks.
I thought that I was good captain teaching my group how to play ripper rugby.

Te awanga

         Te awanga
In the holidays my family went out to
Te Awanga for a holiday. At Te Awanga we have a big trailer that we stay in and we always stay out there because we have lots of family out there. I love to out to Te Awanga My popa owns the camp and my aunt lives in haumoana. My favorite things I did in the holidays were. Motorbiking, fishing and going to the cape.

While we were at Te Awanga I did a lot of motorbiking. When I was motorbiking I did a lot of crashing when I did a dirt around a tree on a quad. I did a lot of drifting on sand and dirt and sometimes when I did a drift in wet mud the mud would go flying up into the air. I did a lot of jumping. At Te Awanga there is a reserve with a big hill and a long ride up to it and over it there is a long trail and shingle and sand with small jumps to go over. When I did jumps sometimes a got higher than two metres and sometimes I just got a little bit of air.

We also did a lot of surf casting. We got a lot of small kahawai and big kahawai and small mullet and big mullet. My popa's best friend Stewart caught a huge moki off the beach. I wasn't there when he caught it I was riding the quad down the beach to find mussels but when I got back Stew already had stuck the knife in the fish's throat to bleed it to death. Mum said the people next to us said to mum “umm I think you have a fish” and the end of the rod was nearly touching the ground and it was a really big surf caster too. When the fish was dead we sat by the bomb fire and had a rest from all the fishing. On friday mum also caught a big fish but this time it was a Trivale and that time I wasn't there either but mum said it took a long time to pull up but both fish were yum. While we were at Te Awanga we also spent a lot of time at the cape. By cape I mean kapekidnappers. We ad lest went to the kape about 5 times but one of those times we only got half the way because there was a massive rock slide. There had been a lot of rock slides but this was the biggest that I had ever seen. When we got to the rockslide we stayed there for about  half an hour trying to find a way around the rocks and trees and dirt. The only way the we could get past was if we road the quad and motorbikes in the sea but we couldn't do that because it was too deep but after a couple of days the high tides should take the trees and dirt out of the way.

Kotahitanga week

On Wednesday we were manuhiri. We had to get welcomed on by room 2 and sing a song to them and then give them a gift and then they took us into the hall to talk about there banner and then they took us into there class room to talk to us about there work that they did. After they talked to us about there work they let us have something to eat. The class had bought some food for us.

I think we were good at our listening to room 2 talk.

We needed to improve our singing.

I felt nervous doing the porwhiri.

On Thursday we were tangata whenua. We were manuhiri to room 4 we had to sing to them and hongi them and explain our banner and talk about what we have learnt .

I think we were good at our singing because we changed our song because our old song didn't fit in .

Ruma wha were good at there haka.

At the end of the kotahitanga I felt glad that it was finished.

Summarising

What is summarising?

When you take key words of of something and put them into your own words.

What are key words?

key words are words that make to story the story.

Why is summarising an important skill?
Displaying VideoNot.es: The easiest way to take notes.png
summarising is an important skill because it gives people practices for expressing important ideas.

what did you find difficult?
the whole thing.

                          Softball lesson three

We have been learning softball skills. The                  man who takes us for lessons is called Alex.
i have become better at when i go to hit the ball

Now i am even at everything like my bating               my fielding and my base running. I can choose          when to run or where to throw the ball to the                                             pitcher.

When we do the next lesson i'm going to focus on               my aiming when the ball is getting pitched.

To Compete Or Not Compete

To compete or not compete

In the sochi winter Olympics some of the competitors are not competing in the games because the course is too dangerous for them. The Olympics is held in Russia.

1. I still think that they should still  enter in the dangerous course because if they started training at a young age for that competition you are just going to let all that talent and practice  go to waste.

2. It cost a bit of money to get there and when you do get there and you decide not to do it then its just a big waste of money. But if you do decide to do it they have a big chance of getting a medal. Also when it finishers they can get back on that plane and feel proud for earning that medal. You will also make your country proud and if you don't do it you might let your county down and not feel proud.
